Overview

Pure Screenshot is a Chrome extension that captures screenshots of web pages. Your privacy is important to us, and this extension is designed to be completely private by design.

Data Collection

Pure Screenshot does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data. Specifically:

  • No personal information is collected
  • No browsing history is recorded
  • No analytics or tracking scripts are used
  • No data is sent to any server
  • No cookies are set
  • No user accounts are required

How the Extension Works

All processing happens entirely on your device:

  1. When you click “Capture Screenshot,” the extension scrolls through the current tab and captures viewport screenshots
  2. The captured frames are stitched together on a local canvas element in the browser
  3. The resulting image is shown as a preview and can be downloaded to your device
  4. No data ever leaves your browser

Permissions

The extension requires only two minimal Chrome permissions:

  • activeTab - Grants temporary access to the current tab only when you click the extension icon. No persistent access to any website.
  • scripting - Allows the extension to inject scroll-and-capture scripts into the active tab during screenshot capture.

These permissions result in zero permission warnings during installation.

This extension does not use any third-party services, libraries, or APIs.
